“As a musical group, GG King has existed for over 18 years, and during that time over a dozen musicians have drifted in and out of its ranks. While the interviews and press about GG King focus on the man behind it all, I wanted to give a musical platform to those unsung zeroes (myself included) who have backed him and brought their talent to bear on our idiosyncratic, incestuous little Atlanta scene.

I present Friends of GG, 39 minutes of Atlanta punk and weirdness that you’ve never heard. Collecting tracks from GG King, Wymyns Prysyn, Whiphouse, Hospice, Gentleman Jesse, Ryan Dino, and more, it also includes projects that never ventured beyond the practice space. Spanning over two decades, this compilation features the up-and-coming alongside the dusty and forgotten. If Roger Ebert was alive, and if he reviewed underground music instead of films, and if he had three thumbs, he’d surely give Friends of GG three thumbs up. And that’s saying something." - Ryan Bell
